The Rise of The Steals
Bravo to all our CPS students in the wake of their original play, ‘Rise of the Steals!’ A fantastic effort by all.
I continue to be blown away by the amount of talent and inclusivity we have in our small school and what an awesome learning opportunity for our students which spanned over an entire term. They created, rehearsed and performed as a different character, worked together to problem solve, compromise and rise as an ensemble. Some students showed real growth over the period of the show’s development and we saw them exceed even their own expectations!
Unfortunately illness struck on the day of the performance but our cast was courageous in attempting to quickly fill the large and sassy footsteps of Danny Steal aka Pippa Quinn. Well done to Fiona Steele and Ivy Luhrs who stepped into a different role on the day and did it brilliantly.
Also, a fantastic effort to our year 5/6 students who had specific theatre roles as the leaders of our school in addition to their acting duties:
Ava Huf - Stage Manager
Thomas Hurley - Assistant Stage Manager
Emma Thomas & Mietta Price - Theatre Managers
Jaxon Cross & Sam Packman - Sound Designers
Cooper Leese - Set Designer
We now look forward to the end of the year with the challenge of learning new songs and the return of instruments to the classroom.
Stay tuned!!
