Student Leadership 2025
Well done to all the Year 5 students who were nominated – a total of 18 girls and 16 boys. It is so pleasing that so many of you want the chance to represent and lead our wonderful school.
After voting by Year 5, NINE girl and EIGHT boy candidates were decided as potential Captains and Vice Captains. These candidates will now create campaign posters and prepare their speeches for later in the term.

Canberra Excursion
Students from our school recently participated in an educational excursion to the national capital. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage, and democracy. Some of the places we visited included the Australian War Memorial, Parliament House, Cockington Green Gardens, National Arboretum, Royal Australian Mint, National Museum of Australia, National Electoral Education Centre, Australian Institute of Sport and Questacon. It was a busy three days!
The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government contributed $45.00 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate will be paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion. This rebate was already included in our calculations for the excursion.
