Admin Corner

By Daniel Itsines

Hi all,

Welcome back to another edition of the Admin Corner! I hope the final term of the school year has gotten off to a fabulous start for you all. Given the time of year, it is appropriate to provide a reminder on some important processes about to commence within our school:

Parent Payment Arrangements:

To allow our school to offer the best possible education and support for our students, we graciously ask our school community for a voluntary financial contribution each year, which allows us to provide:

  • A variety of advanced learning (Innovations) programs such as Maths, English, Sport, Music, Art, Robotics, Mandarin, STEAM and Multimedia
  • A variety of intervention programs such as Targeted Student Learning (TSL)
  • English as an Additional Language (EAL) and
  • Allied Health Services (Speech Pathologist, Counsellor and Educational Psychologist).

Throughout this year in particular, our families support has allowed us to undertake school improvement projects such as:

  • Purchasing additional ICT equipment such as iPads, notebooks, printers and robotics resources
  • Restumped and painted the main and the Year 3 building
  • Installed operable walls in the Year Prep and Three classrooms
  • Replaced the flooring in the art room
  • Installed an additional 110 solar panels
  • Refurbished the gymnasium bathrooms
  • Commenced the development of the new Year 6 area
  • Installed shade structures throughout our school
  • Resurfaced the basketball court and
  • Installed cooling fans in the gymnasium

The school improvement projects we have planned for 2025 include:

  • Continue to replace and add to our school’s technological footprint – additional iPads, notebooks and robotics resources
  • Remove some of the internal walls in the main and Year 3 building to maximise classroom learning spaces
  • Replace the fencing around the bike shed
  • Refresh the line marking throughout the school
  • Complete the development of the new Year 6 play, recreation and learning area
  • Refurbish the bathrooms in the Early Learning Centre and
  • Continue developing our school’s garden beds.

Our school communities’ contributions are what make all the above possible, and we thank you for your ongoing support which allows us to support your children as best we can.

Payments will be available to make via Compass from the 4th of November 2024.

Stationery Packs

To get a kickstart on the 2025 school year, we offer the collection of stationery packs from our school office, once your school contribution(s) have been made. These contain all the stationery that your child(ren) will need for their next school year, along with a bag often used by students during library and specialist classes.

These packs will be available for collection from our reception/office from the 25th of November, 2024.

Further information regarding the above will be made available through Compass on the 4th of November when the Parent Payment Arrangements are made available. If you are seeking more assistance, our office and Mr. Catalano are always available to assist you via 9802 9938, glen.waverley.ps@education.vic.gov.au, or in person.

Warm regards,

Daniel Itsines
