Kids Corner

The “Kids’ Corner” section of our school newsletter provides the opportunity for the children to showcase their talents or communicate something special. This fortnight Javis and Sam (Year 4) who wrote an enthralling poem that includes a narrative and Henry (Year 1) wrote a poem that he is also very proud of. I trust you enjoy it just as much as I did as the children shared it with me.

Henry’s Poem:

Are you happy, are you sad?

Are you angry, are you mad?

I’m travelling over the world afar,

To see all the feelings there are.

Fooled by the Flashing Lights

Deep dark lonely lights

My invisible life

I’m an obscured man

As I sit in sorrow and wait for tomorrow.

I end this heist

The promise for easy money left me enticed.

And so, my tale draws to a close

With shadows deep, where darkness grows.

Regret or triumph, who’s to say?

I walk alone, no price to pay.

In my chaos, I persist

My final words – enticed by bliss.
