News of the Week
Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians,
News from Mrs Sullivan
Hope you are having a great week. In this newsletter we will talk about our upcoming events, hear from our students who were in district athletics last week, our exciting color run, the F-2 Scienceworks excision, our amazing Art Show and lastly what our 3-6 students thought about the market and art work at Mordialloc College.
On Thursday October 31st, we are celebrating a wonderful year with a whole school picnic down at Peter Scullin Reserve. Children will bring there own lunch (please feel free to add a special treat) and drink bottle. We will also be having an Assembly at 2:15pm on this day.
We will all walk down to Peter Scullin after recess and stay until approximately 1.30pm. The children will have an opportunity to play on the new playground and eat lunch. We will provide them with a little treat as well.
Kilbreda End of Year Assembly
What a privilege it was to be invited to the Kilbreda Year 12 End of Year Assembly this morning. It was so exciting to see this year's Co-College Captain - Alicia Nobel (ex St Brigid's student & Blake's sister) pass on the mantel of College Captain for 2025 to Charlotte McLean, ex St Brigid’s student. Both Alicia and Charlotte did Kilbreda (and us) proud. Their speeches were warm and friendly and upheld the value of Kilbreda! Both Tracey and I had a tear in our eye! Alicia and Charlotte's parents were bursting with pride, as were we!!! It was also wonderful to see a number of our ex-students also receive Academic and Community Awards.
Congratulations
A huge congratulations to Isla S, Ollie W and Eva G who represented St Brigid’s in the District Athletics last Friday. Isla placed 9th in the 1500m race and 8th in the triple jump. Ollie placed 8th in the discus and Eva placed 13th in the hurdles.
This is an amazing effort and I think from memory this is the first time we have been represented at District since I have been here!
Foundation 2025 Parent Information Night
It was fantastic to meet our 2025 Foundation families last night. It was wonderful to see new and existing families share how they are feeling about their children starting school in 2025. Our existing families spoke about how safe and cared for their children are here at St Brigid’s. Our new families spoke about how welcome they have felt so far and how much they are looking forward to being a part of this great community. We cannot wait to see the 2025 Foundations students at their first orientation next week on Thursday 24 October at 8:45am.
Silent Auction
We are thrilled to announce that we raised $775.00 in our silent auction that finished today. Thank you to our winning bidders! We hope you love your new art work! Art can be collected from the office.
