Prep
This term students will continue to develop their singing voices, play the melodic percussion instruments and enhance their understanding of rhythm and beat. Students will play together as a class ensemble on the melodic percussion pieces. They will compose their own 4 beat rhythms and play these on different percussive instruments to a beat. Towards the end of term, students will present and perform a year group song at the Christmas Carol Concert.
Year 1 and Year 2
This term, the students will learn to identify songs within the community. They will perform on the melodic percussion instruments to their peers and reflect on their progress on the xylophones from Term 1 to the present. Students will continue to sing rounds to develop their pitch and volume. Towards the end of term, students will present and perform a year group song at the Christmas Carol Concert.
PERFORMANCES: CHOIR AND YEAR 5/ 6 Mermaid Dance group: Eltham Rotary Festival’ on Saturday 9th November, 9:30am Alistair Knox Park/Oval Community Stage, Eltham
We will perform on the Community Stage at 9:30am but all students need to arrive 9:10am to sign in.
All choir members and the Year 5/6 Mermaid Dance group received a Compass event request with full information of the location and times on Monday 14th October. Please respond by accepting the invitation so we can see who is able to attend or let us know if you did not receive it.
Christmas Carol Concert, Wednesday 11th December Week 10 - Choir will also perform at the Christmas Concert.
