Selamat Siang,

Throughout the term so far, we have been building on our persuasive writing skills starting at a sentence level, then building towards writing cohesive paragraphs and this week we are putting this altogether to write a finished piece. We considered our target audience of parents and how we could best convince them that 'MPRPS is the best school.' It is great to see how their writing has developed and seeing students challenging themselves.

In Reading, we have continued to read texts connected with our Guided Inquiry unit about the past. Focusing specifically on our reading fluency and strategies to summarise texts, we have learnt about buildings and tools from different eras. We also had a go at playing some 'olden days' games like cats cradle.

In Maths, we are consolidating our understanding of the four operations through multi-step worded problems. We've learned ways to help us identify key words and information in a question and to show our thinking, making sure we've properly answered the question. This was a helpful way for us to also review some of our Maths facts.

It's been a fantastic week and we're looking forward to some great events coming up, es

pecially the Year 1 Late Stay and Year 2 Sleepover! Please log onto Compass and complete the permission form as soon as possible to support us in our preparation.
