OSHCLUB News

Hello Oshclub families!!

We’ve had another fun-filled and engaging week at Oshclub. The children have been busy exploring new experiences, learning through play, and enjoying time with friends.

Here’s a peek at what children have been up to:

Blueberry choc-chip Muffin baking-Children had so much fun becoming little chefs this week. They measured, mixed and baked the most delicious blue berry muffins and the centre smelled amazing.

Mentos and Coke Science Experiment-Things got fizzy and fun. Our young scientists explored chemical reactions by dropping Mentos into bottles of Coke and observing the explosive results. We discussed what caused the reaction and encouraged predictions and reflections.

This week, We’ll be celebrating the start of Halloween-Themed fun, with spooky crafts, games, and dress up activities. We’ll also continue our sustainability projects, helping children learn about caring for our environment in simple, meaningful ways.

Outside in Term 1 & Term 4 – please ensure that children either have a hat stored in the hat tub at OSHClub or in their bag at all times, as we would hate for anyone to miss out on our outdoor fun!

Staffing Changes

As we move into the new term, there have been a few staffing changes. Amelia has moved on to coordinate at a larger school, and we thank her for her commitment and support during her time with us. Stepping into the Coordinator role is Leyla, who has been part of our team as an educator for almost three years.

I am excited to take on this new role and continue supporting our children, families, and school community. I look forward to building on the great work already happening here and to creating a positive and engaging environment for everyone! - Leyla

I would also like to share that I will be overseas from the 16/10 - 24/10. In this time, Hannah will be temporarily supporting Mount Pleasant Road along with Lekky as our casual educator. Both staff have worked at MPR many times in the past and know children and routine very well. I'm confident the service will run smoothly in my absence!

Family Suggestions

At OSHClub, we deeply value our families and community and would love to incorporate more family voices into our program. Whether it's a cherished family recipe we can cook together, a creative art activity, or any other idea, we would greatly appreciate your input!

Feel free to share your suggestions in our journal, located in the parent sign-in area, and we’ll do our best to bring them to life. Your contributions help make our program even more special!

Drop off/Pick up

Parents/ guardians are required to sign children in for Rise and Shine sessions and sign children out of Stay and Play sessions using the service iPad. Please ensure you are coming to the room when dropping your children to Rise then Shine or holiday program. Please do not let them walk by themselves.

Enrolling Your Child

For new enrolments, please go to https://www.oshclub.com.au/register/

A helpful video for navigating the iParent Portal and completing the enrolment process can be found on this page.

Please note: CRN numbers and all birth dates must be entered correctly if you wish to claim the Child Care Subsidy. CCS applications are submitted automatically to Centrelink when new enrolments are actioned.

Bookings

Online bookings for Rise then Shine and Stay and Play sessions close 24 hours in advance. Online bookings for the Holiday Program and Curriculum Days close 5 days in advance.

If online bookings have closed, and you would like to make or cancel a booking, please SMS the program phone on 0427 144 945.

Cancellation of Bookings

IMPORTANT: If your child is booked in for an afternoon Stay and Play session and that booking is no longer required, please cancel the booking on the iParent Portal. If you are cancelling on the day, please contact us on the program phone before 3:15pm.

We are responsible for all children booked into our care. If a child does not arrive after school care when booked in to attend, we will need to confirm the whereabouts of the child by contacting parents/guardians and emergency contacts. If we cannot successfully do this, it then becomes a missing child incident.

As you can imagine, this can be very stressful!

Thanks for your cooperation by notifying us of any Stay and Play absences.
