Story Stones Garden Bed

This week, we were delighted to welcome back Shanai from Maloga Art to OHR. Shanai, the talented Indigenous artist behind our beautiful mural that tells OHR’s story through Aboriginal symbols, returned to share her knowledge and creativity with our students. Through her "Story Stones" workshops, students deepened their understanding of Indigenous culture by exploring traditional symbols, patterns, and the natural world. Using dot painting techniques, each student created their own personal story on a stone. These individual artworks will be placed together to form a winding channel within one of our garden beds, symbolising unity and connection. This whole-school project aims to nurture a strong sense of community and belonging among our students and their families.

Congratulations to our Maths Champions!

We are proud to congratulate the students below who recently participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC). First run in 1978, each year, the AMC presents unique and challenging problems designed by leading educators and academics to stretch students’ thinking and problem-solving skills. Our students demonstrated persistence and enthusiasm for mathematics as they tackled these challenges. 

Well done to all our participants, you should be very proud of your achievement! We will acknowledge our impressive students at next weeks Assembly (Monday 15th September).
