We’re thrilled to share that Trinity has received 12 nominations in the Junior Category at the upcoming 52nd Annual Georgy Awards for our production of Back to the 80s! This is our highest number of nominations yet - and what’s even more exciting is the wide range of students recognised across the cast and crew.
These nominations are a wonderful reflection of the depth and strength of our Performing Arts program at Trinity, and the dedication of both our students and staff. We’re also in the running for several additional awards that will be announced on the night.
Congratulations to our amazing team on this outstanding achievement!

On Wednesday 22 October, Year 9, 10 and 11 Performing Arts classes attended “MJ the Musical” in Melbourne. After an early start, we headed to Melbourne's Her Majesty’s Theatre, where our group experienced a professional-level production and discovered how music, drama, and dance come together to create a harmonious piece.
The musical offered an insight into Michael Jackson’s rise to fame and the making of his multi-million-dollar tour, Dangerous World Tour, where his electric dance moves, iconic music, and continuous effort to raise the bar and push boundaries ultimately illustrated his lasting influence on the world today. The story was rich in emotion, excitement, and tension, including an elaborate atmosphere and mood through lighting, flashes, and moving set pieces that were all incorporated to enhance our experience. Alongside this, the intense choreography and beautiful acting and vocal performance motivated us to pursue our passion for performing arts. We all were extremely inspired, and the production was truly incredible.
Some students said:
“The musical was insightful, and it was awesome to see all of the special effects” - Lucy Cochrane
“The dancing was very clean and told the story very well!” - Georgia Wilson
“I thought the musical was whimsical and was expertly executed”- Archie James
“Very Good! The actors were excellent, and the soundtrack was perfect as I am a big fan of MJ and his tunes.” - Vimbai and Ewan
“There were some amazing vocalists” - Ms Spragg
Overall, it was a great day filled with awe, smiles, and plenty of conversations for the trip home. A big thank you to all the teachers who made this opportunity possible.
