The Imperfects Podcast

Bryan Brown – The Value of Being Alive

Guest:

Bryan Brown

Not to be dramatic, but Bryan Brown is an Australian icon of the silver screen.

Cast in over 80 film and tv projects throughout his career, working with people such as Jennifer Aniston, Ben Stiller and Sigourney Weaver (possibly biggest name drop we’ve ever had), Bryan was all set for a life of numbers and mathematics before he allowed himself to be guided by joy.

Joining Josh and Ryan in the Vulnerabilitea House, Bryan answers the question, ‘*what has been the scariest moment of your life?’*

Covering all elements (literally), Bryan recounts a near drowning, and a close call with flames, before he was grounded by his first experience with anxiety.

Chatting to Josh and Ryan about what it felt like to have his perception of mental health changed, Bryan talks about becoming comfortable with vulnerability, what it means to be a man, and how he was able to ask for help.

Bryan, it was an absolute pleasure.

Social Groups

This week the 'Maintenance' Group began with cleaning the chook shed and cleaning the drinking tap area.  This group focuses on teamwork, talking positively with each other, taking pride in our school and being creative.  Thanks Emma for taking the first session with this group!!!

Looking After Our Sporting Equipment.

At St Patrick’s, we show Respect by taking care of our sporting gear so everyone can enjoy it — today and in the future!

Expected Behaviours:

  • Use it safely: Play games the way they’re meant to be played.
  • Pack it away: When the bell goes, return all balls, bats, and skipping ropes to the correct tubs or sheds.
  • Keep it low: Don’t kick or throw balls onto the church roof, buildings, or fences.
  • Share and include: Make sure everyone gets a fair go with the equipment.

Why it matters: When we look after our sporting equipment, it lasts longer, everyone gets a turn, and our school stays safe, tidy, and fun!

Next week, let’s see if every class can return all equipment at the end of each break — no balls on the roof, no missing gear!
