Students at St Patrick’s have been busy expanding their Italian vocabulary and confidence!
Grades 3–6 are learning all about La casa (The House). They have been exploring Italian words for rooms and household items, translating them, and using them in sentences. To put their learning into practice, students are designing and describing their very own dream house — all in Italian!
Meanwhile, Grades F–1 are focusing on the days of the week and months of the year. They’re practising how to include Italian words they already know in simple English sentences, helping them make real-life language connections in fun and meaningful ways.
Bravo, everyone
During Sport this week we have been discussing the importance of keeping our bodies fit and healthy. We've now learned the benefits to our brain function, positive self-image and overall wellbeing.
Not everyone enjoys doing the same activities to keep physically active, so each class experimented with different fun games including Star Wars, Capture the Flag, outdoors Silent Ball, Rounders Cricket, and Farmer Sam. This was a very-well received lesson for every class, and it was interesting to hear them cooperate and negotiate on favourite choices.

We've been working on a few projects and process art during art lessons the last few weeks and also creating some amazing Christmas cards for the elderly residents at the nursing home. We won't share them yet and we want to keep them a surprise but there were lots of love and joy in creating them. It was the 5/6 students turn to finish their print making portraits and they are now displayed in the foyer. Senior students have also started another fun print making banner project which we can't wait to share the finished product!
