Hi Sports Fans

Last Wednesday, our Year 6 girls travelled to RSEA Park (the old Saints footy ground) to play in the Little Saints Cup.  This was St Louis fourth time competing in the all girls football carnival.  It’s all about encouraging young girls to give footy a go in a fun and safe environment.  St Louis finished second, which is a great result.  But more importantly, the focus was more about participation, fun and social interactions.  

They got to meet players from the St Kilda's AFLW team, received signatures, gathered a show bag, went in a raffle, had fun in the glitter tent topped it off with an exhausting half hour on the bouncing castles.  Thank you to Debbie who looked after the “B’s” and to the parents that came down to cheer on the girls.  

The Chelsea District of local schools ran their first ever softball tournament last term.  Both our boys and girls teams won and, on Friday, played in the Kingston Division.  Mr Giosis and Sue took the budding little leaguers to the Cheltenham Baseball Club for the round robin event.  Our girl’s team missed out on the finals with one win, one draw and a one run loss.  However, our boy’s team won all of their games and will now progress to the South Metro region finals.  Nice!

All the best to our 7 athletes, Jagger, Alyssa, Rhys, Jack, Lucy, Patrick and Abigail at the Regional Athletics Carnival next Wednesday.  And to our bowls team who will be competing for a spot in the Vic State finals on Friday.
