Grade 1 & 2
Term 4, Week 10
Can you believe that we are at the end of Term 4 already! As a 1/2 team, we are so proud of the progress and achievements of all of our students. It has been a massive year filled with rich learning and fun experiences along the way, starting with our Digital Technologies unit all the way back in Term 1 to our Geography unit this term.
Engagement in our Integrated unit this term has been excellent and 1/2 students have loved learning about continents, countries and the connection that Indigenous people, their peers and themselves have to their land and special places around them.
This Thursday we will have a PHD student from RMIT joining us for a presentation on “what lies beneath”, modelling what happens underneath the Earth’s surface and why volcanoes erupt. Students across the cohort are very intrigued by this!
We have also managed to reschedule Merliyn Duff, who will be facilitating an Aboriginal art incursion for 1/2 students next week. A lovely way to wrap up the term’s learning.
In addition, to celebrate all of their learning this term, 1/2 students have been creating their own board games with a partner or in a small group. The board games had to be linked to our learning from this term and we are blown away by the creativity we have seen! We will be organising a special morning in the next couple of weeks where all 1/2 students can play each other’s games.
We thank all of you for your support in our programs this year, regular communication, attendance at expo afternoons, parent helpers and all the friendly chats along the way too! As a 1/2 team, we have loved working with all of you and your children this year.
