Grade 5 & 6

Term 4, Week 10

This term in Literacy, Year 5 is examining speech writing as they plan their speeches for captaincy roles in 2024. We wish them every success in their endeavours. They are also compiling all of the most interesting texts they’ve written throughout the year into their Writer’s Gift.

Year 6 has been getting prepared for Graduation tonight (preparing speeches, mementos, rehearsing performances and reminiscing their primary school journey) and the Cheers and Tears Assembly. They have also been compiling their Writer’s Gift.

In Maths, we delved into all things Fractions, Decimals and Percentages which lead into a short Probability unit looking at the likelihood of events occurring, using common language as well as fractions, decimals and percentages on a probability scale/line. The last few weeks of the term have focused on coding.

A special thank you to our students and their families for the wonderful support, dedication and hard work that has gone into another year. We wish all our students the very best for 2024, and our Year 6 students much happiness and success as they start their high school journey.
