Music & Choir

Term 4, Week 10

It certainly has been a busy term and I'm pretty sure everyone is ready for a well-deserved rest!

The end of the year is a good time for reflection and I’d like to thank everyone for their support this year. The staff, administration, parents and students all make BPS the best school around! In particular I’d like to thank Marianne and Andrew for their ongoing support and the Specialist Team – Liz, Yi, Merissa and Trinity. Thanks for being such amazing colleagues and friends. We really do have a good time ‘at work’ together!

Alwaynne Strentz and Jo Seton - the people I work most closely with when planning musical events throughout the year - assembly performances, the Mid-Year Soiree, Open Night, the Evening of Music and Band Recruitment Night. Alwaynne and Jo have been wonderful to collaborate with this year and I am very grateful for their support. Last but not least, thanks to our instrumental teaching staff - Ken, Jake, Catherine, Justin, Adrienne and Jirene - for inspiring our students to become dedicated musicians learn the value (and love!) of learning an instrument!

Now to a snapshot of what students have been up to in the Music Room (and beyond!)

2023 Music and Band Captains

A HUGE thank you to Louis and Cassie for their wonderful efforts this year supporting me with the numerous music events throughout the year. You have been AMAZING and I wish you all the very best for your future endeavours!

Here they are below helping me unpack our new class set of ukuleles ready for us to learn in 2024!

THANK YOU to all parents of choristers for supporting your child at performance events throughout the year.

I hope that the 2023 Choir had as much fun participating as I have directing. I am so proud of the commitment they have showed ALL year; attending weekly lunchtime rehearsals, learning their songs and harmony parts at home, and most importantly, having fun together while singing! I am looking forward to doing it all again in 2024!

Until then, happy holidays to all!

Yours in harmony,
