Yarn Up

On December 5th we had our final Yarn Up for the year. It was a great night where we all got to relax and celebrate everything our students had achieved this year. Our staff loved getting to know our students families. There was lots of fun in watching a slideshow of all the highlights of this year.

Schools Spectacular

A few weeks ago our deadly dancers traveled down to Sydney to perform in this year's School Spectacular. They all did an amazing job! We had 10 students travel down with Sophia-Rose Markham, Madison Froome-Young, Madison Collins, Jovan Connors, Jessica Ferris, Alexis Lockwood, Tia-Nara Slater-Saunders and Nahri Slater-Saunders in the Aboriginal Dance Ensemble along with Nya Quinlan and Angela Simon in the Aboriginal Dance Company.

Yr 11 Lunch

We had a celebration lunch this term with our Yr 11 students, their families and our staff to celebrate all they have achieved in the last year. It was fantastic to see all the support our students have and to catch up with all of our families. Thanks to the Armidale Bowling Club for hosting us.

Kyah Simon Soccer Clinic

During the last week of term we had 14 students attend the Kyah Simon Soccer Clinic out at Sport UNE. The kids were shown first hand, skills and drill by a team of coaches alongside 3 professional football players, Kyah Simon, Faye Bryson & Mark Bridge. The day was a great success with kids coming from all across the region to participate in the day. A huge thank you to the organizers and sponsors that we able to put on such an awesome day for the kids to show off their skills and develop them further.

Tutoring

With the Community Connector Program we have been able to provide tutoring for our Yr 11 students. Our students are receiving 1-2 tutoring sessions a week to help them with their studies. There are still places available for our senior students, so if you would like to take part or have any questions please contact Louise Drielsma at louise.drielsma@det.nsw.edu.au.

Awards

Our students this year did a fantastic job that was recognised by everyone at both the Celebration of Learning and Merit assemblies. Some of our Major award recipients were Sophia-Rose Markham, Dallas Kelly, Cooper Collins, Patrick Faint, Leilani Simon, Nya Quinlan, Silas Smith, Alexis Lockwood and Alfie Smith. Congratulations to everyone who got an award, we are so proud!

Term 5

For term 5 this year students got the chance to finish painting the poles around our yarning circle at the school. The kids and staff had a great time.

Wrap Up

This year has been a really big year for usall filled with our students success, achievement and a lot of fun. We wish everyone a safe and happy summer holiday and can’t wait to welcome everyone back for next year.
