Catholic Identity

Lord

As we face challenges throughout this year,

help us to be courageous -

by daring to learn by speaking up and

learning to change by speaking out.

We pray this as a community inspired by the Catholic story.

 Amen

Thank You Mark

We commenced the term with an opening Liturgy in which the students participated. We have been very energised by the enthusiasm with which the students have embraced being involved in these activities. The opening liturgy focused on the words of St Mary MacKillop to be happy by making others happy. We have also celebrated Ash Wednesday with a liturgy and again we were very inspired to witness the manner in which the students engaged.

We have commenced professional development with Kylie Smith from CES on the year of the Gospel of Mark. Our aim is to provide a deeper understanding of the Gospels and how they resonate here at Borinya. These sessions also supply accreditation hours for our teaching staff.

Other aspects of our Catholic Identity are made manifest by the inclusion of community service for all 7-10 students on Wednesday afternoons. Students are engaging in cooking for the care van, volunteering at Yooralla and Illoura as well as engaging with our Catholic primary schools.
