During Term 4, Year 3/4 students have consistently demonstrated respect, responsibility, and resilience while embracing academic rigor. Below is a summary of their learning.
In our reading lessons, we have been learning about the importance of inferring This is the process of using prior knowledge and textual information to make conclusions and predictions about the text.
We have begun planning our narratives, ensuring we have an engaging title, setting characters and plot for our story. Students are also learning about the importance of writing an exciting introduction, also known as a 'sizzling start'. This can be done in a number of ways, such as; starting with the action, beginning with dialogue or even opening with a question.
In Mathematics we have been learning about regular, irregular, and 3-dimensional shapes. We have been using our devices to design our own rooms using Tinkercad.
Students have enjoyed the opportunity to improve their ICT (information and communication technologies) skills by creating short stories on Canva using storyboard templates.
