Engagement & Wellbeing

We are thrilled to share with you the exciting developments of our wellbeing program here at Bemin Secondary College. As we embark on this journey together, we prioritise not only academic excellence but also the holistic development and mental health of our students.

Over the first term, we have laid the foundation for a comprehensive wellbeing program designed to support the diverse needs of our students. Our approach integrates various elements to foster a nurturing environment where students can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

One-to-One Counselling:

As part of our commitment to supporting our students in achieving their best, we have launched one-to-one counselling services. We have a team of trained counsellors who are available to provide confidential support and guidance to students facing personal or academic challenges. Whether it's managing stress, coping with transitions, or navigating their mental health, our counsellors are here to listen, and empower students to overcome obstacles and thrive.

Referrals to the Wellbeing Team:

Young people can be referred to the Wellbeing team via a teacher or Bemin Staff member. Families can directly request wellbeing support by following this link and filling out the wellbeing form. A wellbeing staff member will then follow up with the student as soon as they are available.

Term 2

As we move forward, we remain committed to continuously evaluating and enhancing our wellbeing program to meet the evolving needs of our students. Together, we can create a nurturing community where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. In Term Two the wellbeing team has a number of targeted groups as well as the launch of our wellbeing hubs across both campuses. These hub spaces will be used to support student regulation and provide a hub for wellbeing resources and supports. Look out for pictures of our hubs in future editions!

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in this important work.

Regards,

Bryce Baumgarten

Assistant Principal of Wellbeing and Engagement
