At Bemin Secondary College, we are committed to providing a comprehensive understanding of our students' academic progress and achievements. Our approach to assessment and reporting is designed to offer transparent, insightful, and supportive feedback to students and their families, ensuring every learner is on a path to success.
Progress Reports
Our next round of Progress Reports will be made live on Compass this coming Thursday, March 28th, 2024.
These reports are a valuable part of our ongoing assessment strategy, offering a snapshot of your child's achievements, areas for improvement, and overall engagement in their learning journey. Designed to be clear and informative, they serve as a foundation for meaningful conversations about educational growth and goals.
Your child will be assessed on six key areas:
- Tracking towards the Victorian Curriculum standard
- Learning Growth
- Organising Classwork
- Homework
- Follows Expected Classroom Routines, and
- Respect.
They will receive a statement for each area of assessment, corresponding to the levels explained in detail on the Understanding the Progress Report rubric.

Parent Teacher Interviews - Wednesday, April 17th 2024
We warmly invite all families to book appointments for our Parent-Teacher Interviews, to be held on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm. All interviews will take place at the Bemin Secondary College - Morris Road Campus, located at 805 Morris Road, Truganina VIC 3029.
Please note, this day will be an altered school day for students; classes will not be running. However, we encourage students to accompany their parents/guardians to attend their scheduled interviews with their teachers.
Each interview slot will last for 10 minutes, and each family will be able to book meetings with up to four teachers. This arrangement ensures that as many families as possible can engage with the relevant teachers.
Bookings will close and be finalised on Friday, April 5th 2024 at 9.00am.
Should you require an interpreter, please indicate this when making each teacher booking. A range of languages with available interpreters is listed for your selection during the booking process.
Booking Your Parent-Teacher Interviews
1. Access the Conferences booking on Compass (a green prompt like above will appear on the Compass website).
2. A Welcome prompt should appear. Click on 'Start Booking Now' to proceed.
3. Select the teacher you would like to meet with.
4. Click on a suitable available time.
5. Confirm your booking. At this stage, you may request an interpreter.
