GOWRIE NEWSTEAD VISIT
The Junior Concert Band performed for the children at Gowrie-Newstead on Thursday, the 16th of November. The band presented various short and fun pieces, with the children joining in with different movements for each piece, including stomping along like a garden gnome, musical statues and bouncing up and down like a trombone. The Concert Band students each demonstrated their instruments in their sections, giving the children a Gowrie a taste of what each instrument sounds like and introducing them to the variety of wind instruments we have to offer. The students involved are to be congratulated on their behaviour and willingness to help on a tight turn-around between getting off the bus and setting and packing up. Many thanks to Gowrie-Newstead for having us! We are looking forward to our next concert band visit.

Elijah Performance 18/19th November - Bathurst & Orange
Koristers had a busy weekend, performing in two concerts of Elijah by Mendelssohn. Koristers featured in an unaccompanied item as well as singing with the combined chorus (Willoughby Singers, Allegri Singers and Orange Chamber Choir) and the Orange Symphony Orchestra. Despite the long hours of concentration and hot conditions in both venues, the students represented themselves and KWS in an exemplary manner. Our young singers received many compliments on their beautiful singing and conduct from audience and other musicians alike. Thank you to all our Koristers and families for making the effort to be a part of this fabulous community music event.
