Around the Junior School
Gordon House Year 6
Gordon House Year 6 students hosted a successful bake sale fundraising activity last Friday. At the start of Term 4, students decided they wanted to support a local charity in Orange and after much research, decided that Food Care was a worthwhile cause.
Students sent a note to Mrs Hayward for approval of the date and activity. They organised tables from Mrs Fatai as well as table clothes from Mrs Anderson. It was decided to sell food items for the bargain price of $1.
Harry Kensit collected the Kinders so they could buy food first and from then on, it was a hive of activity as donuts, cupcake, honey jumbles and lolly bags, flew off the tables.
Over $300 was raised for charity and the Gordon students were very pleased with their efforts. Thank you to all the junior school parents and students, who donated food and to those who enjoyed a sweet treat on Friday.
Pre-Kinder 2023 Disco
Wednesday 15 November was the Pre-Kinder 2023 Disco. Always a fun, exciting event. Plenty of sparkles and bling worn by both children and teachers, any excuse for a dress up. The children took to the dance floor, dancing to disco favourites as well as some set Pre-Kinder dances. To conclude the festivities we played a game of limbo before a little picnic of chips and a drink. A great night had by all.
SRC – Junior School has Talent!
Over the past few weeks, the SRC Representatives have been hosting a lunch time ‘try-out’. Students performed solo songs, group dances, magic tricks and skits! It was wonderful to see the talent across the students from K-6.
Congratulations to Anna Kenny who was the overall winner for 'KWS has Talent!'
Year 6 – Last session for 2023 with Tim Harris.
On Wednesday 15 November, Tim Harris and Ms Dodson worked with Year 6 on a writing workshop. Together, students experimented with a variety of materials to make sticky glue! This was then developed into an engaging story. Year 6 loved creating their own twists to their story. This was a wonderful last session with Tim Harris for 2023.
