Kinross Wolaroi School Country Fair

Save the date for this exciting event!

WHEN | Saturday 2 March, 10am-3pm

WHERE| Wolaroi Main Oval

The Fair promises a day brimming with delectable foods, enticing raffles, engaging games and rides, vibrant markets and stalls, and entertaining performances. We aim to raise funds for the restoration of Wolaroi Mansion, a building that not only holds a significant place within the school's history but also stands as an important feature of Orange's historic fabric.

Please donate to the Fair!

The Fair will be staged in Week 5 of Term 1, which doesn’t leave a lot of time when we return in 2024, so there are a number of items we’d love you to start thinking about and organising now.

Dropping off your donations

For those who would like to drop off donations, the shed at the rear of 95 Bathurst Road will be open this Thursday and Friday morning from 8:00am - 8:45am, and then every Thursday and Friday until 22 December, then from 11 January until 23 February.

Drop off will also be open for Boarder Families at 2:45pm - 3:35pm this Friday 24 November, and 8:00am until 2:30pm on Friday 7 December and Monday 29 January.

The shed is at the rear of 95 Bathurst Road (right opposite McDonalds) and can be accessed via the driveway to the right of 95 Bathurst Road (alongside the property next door, known as ‘Kinross Mews’).

WHAT CAN YOU GIVE?

Book donations – we’re calling for donations for our secondhand book stall including kid’s books and novels.

White Elephant – We’re seeking good quality used items in working order such as: children’s games and toys (NO soft toys), sporting equipment (tennis racquets, cricket bats and pads, etc.), homewares. Please NO large furniture, electrical items, bicycles or used bed linen.

Jams, pickles, preserves & crafts – in summer good produce is abundant and cheap so please support us by bottling your home made jams, pickles and preserves to sell at the fair! We know there are some talented crafters out there - perhaps you can get knitting or sewing to support our fundraising?

Jar stall – the jar stall is a great option if you are not a cook. Save some jars and fill them with fun items for purchase: lollies, small collectible toys or cards, crayons, stickers, socks, bath bombs, makeup – use your imagination! This stall was extremely popular at our last Fair.

Chocolate Wheel – A great option for disposing of those unwanted Christmas gifts! We are running a chocolate wheel at the fair and your donation of NEW goods such as gourmet foods, wines, homewares, electrical items, gift vouchers, meat platters, hampers, giftward, etc. would be very gladly received.

Plant stall donations – For all of our families with ‘green thumbs’ we need your help! Please start propagating herbs and plants from your garden! Pulling out a tree or shrub? Pot it up for the Fair! We’ll be asking you to drop off plant donations from Term 1 2024.

Can you give to our raffle?

We are currently trying to finalise our raffle prizes and we are looking for great experiences like  balloon rides, fine dining, weekends away, car hire, travel or accommodation vouchers, lessons, art, landscape design services, and the like. The raffle is one of our best fundraisers so your gift will have real impact! We need to kick off our raffle in January 2024, so please let us know asap if you can help us out. Raffle donations should be directed to Sarah Rourke, P&F Treasurer, at pandftreasurer@kws.nsw.edu.au.

Sponsorship Opportunities

The Fair is an amazing opportunity to showcase your business or product to the Kinross Wolaroi School community: If you would like to find out more about becoming a sponsor of the Fair, please contact the Event Coordinator, Harriet Alker at halker@kws.nsw.edu.au for a sponsorship package. Your support will be prominently acknowledged throughout the event.

We're excited to come together as a community and make the 2024 Kinross Wolaroi School Fair a memorable event for everyone. Whether you can donate, volunteer, or simply join us on 2 March, your presence and support are greatly appreciated. Stay tuned for more updates and details about the fair in the coming months. We look forward to seeing you there! Thank you for being a valued part of our Kinross Wolaroi School community, and here's to a fantastic Kinross Wolaroi School Fair in 2024!
