For Every Child Campaign

Catherine Beswick

You may have heard information in the media about the “For Every Child” campaign, that the Australian Education Union (AEU) is running at the moment. In the next year, federal and state politicians will decide whether public schools will finally receive full funding. Right now, 98% of public schools are resourced below the Schooling Resource Standard, which is the minimum amount governments have agreed they need. Getting every public school to that Schooling Resource Standard by 2028 is the goal of the “For Every Child” campaign. We need your help to achieve it!

Did you know that government schools are critically underfunded? Every student is missing out on $1,800 each year on average which is $1.8B in Victoria alone. Just think how this money could be spent to improve the education of the children in our school!

If you would like to show your support to this campaign, you can find more information about ways to support through this website: https://www.foreverychild.au/

Also, look out for Cath handing out postcards this week about the campaign. We would love signatures from those in our community supporting having fully funded schools. Cath will be giving these postcards to Meredith Peace, the AEU’s Victorian President on Thursday at the AEU’s regional meeting.
