Presentation Day

Last week we celebrated the achievements of our students at our annual Presentation Day. The hall was at capacity with 72 awardees and 80 family members.  We are grateful for the ongoing support from special guests Mr Stephen Bingon, Relieving Director Educational Leadership; Mrs Pam Ryan, School Patron; Member for Orange, Mr Philip Donato MP; and Mr Kevin McGuire, CEO Wangarang Industries. They all took time out of their busy schedules to present our major awards.

Mrs Meers announced our 2024 School Leaders - congratulations!

There will be an induction ceremony held on Tuesday 13 February at 10:00am.

After the formalities, we watched a clip showing our fabulous Schools Spec students preparing and performing before we headed to the cafe for some morning tea.

We are incredibly proud of all award winners - congratulations!

Orange Ex-Services Club Christmas Party

Every year the dedicated staff from the Orange Ex-Services Club hosts a Christmas Party for our school. Last Wednesday the volunteers arrived, keen to cook up a feast and say hello to everyone. Students and staff were treated to either a sausage on a roll or a hot dog, a cold drink and an ice cream. After lunch, Santa arrived in a fire engine with sirens announcing his arrival and he was greeted enthusiastically by secondary students. Each student received a book present from Santa. The OESC generously provided for the whole event and we are thankful for their support over 41 years. Primary students farewelled Santa on his way back to his elves.

Thank you to all of the volunteers and OESC employees who spoil us every year.

Year 12 Graduation

Last Thursday marked a significant milestone as eight Year 12 students proudly graduated from our school! 🎓🌟 Their journey has been filled with hard work, growth, and memorable experiences. It was a fantastic night with staff, students and families sharing stories about our wonderful graduates, and of course showing off some cool moves on the dancefloor.

Congratulations Charlie, Orlando, Duncan, Liam, Jonah, Daisy, Nelson and Erjan. We are so proud of you all and look forward to hearing about your next adventures!

See 'Inside the Classroom' for more photos.

Year 12 gift

This year, our year 12 students wanted to give the school a gift and decided on positivity signs for the gate to the oval. Students designed the signs including images, colours and quotes. They wanted the signs to help students get into the right frame of mind to play well when they enter the playground and return to class well as they exit the playground.

The sign as people enter the playground reads "Enjoy the sunshine, stay active, play your favourite sport, have fun and catch up with your friends". The sign seen when exiting says "When you give joy to other people, you get more joy in return".  Year 12 students contacted Midwest Signs and were excited when they were invited to see the signs produced from start to finish. We are super grateful to the team at Midwest Signs as they donated both signs, plus spent a couple of hours explaining the process to us.

Year 11 students, Blake, Charlie, Alex, and Dylan helped install the signs with Mr Wilson (below).
