From the Principal
Hello everyone
This is the final newsletter for the year and what a year it has been.
The exciting and most recent news is Year 2 student Connor Sutton's Christmas drawing was selected by the Minister of Education, Prue Carr to be used on her Christmas cards. This was a competition held statewide, so we were very proud when Connor was selected.
Farewell and thanks to the following staff:
- Ms Maxi Briton who has been teaching with us for the past 6 months and has been offered a permanent position closer to her home.
- Ms Mel Konjetic who is taking up a position at Canobolas Rural Technology HS
- Miss Mia Rowland who will be moving from Orange and trying new adventures.
All of these ladies have been highly valued and an important part of our school community and I thank them for their work with our students.
Congratulations to Mrs Bree Smith and her husband Mathew who recently welcomed a baby boy called Angus and we wish Mrs Elke Cunial and her husband Daniel all the best with the upcoming birth of their 3rd child.
Congratulations to Mrs Jessica Hodder, Stage 6 Assistant Principal who was successful in being selected for the Middle Leadership Development Program (MLDP). Her selection into the program was the result of a highly rigorous and competitive process from many middle leaders across NSW public schools, so we are exceptionally proud of our talented staff member.
More congratulations to Mr Lachie Wilson who received his certificate of teacher proficiency and to Mrs Lindy Owens and Ms Vicki Hill for 20 years of public service. It is wonderful to have people with such skill and expertise working in public education.
Academic reports will be sent home with a letter about sport choices for Term 1 and start dates as we have a staggered start to the year.
We continue to have full enrolment and will be using all spaces across the school next year with Stage 5 moving to the campus where they will have access to wonderful resources such as the library, farm, the Zone (climbing wall) and environmental bike track. We warmly welcome Mr Stephen Gross and Mr Hugh Rasmussen to the executive leadership team next year.
Finally, congratulations and farewell to our wonderful Year 12 students. I always have mixed emotions when a group of students completes their education and moves on from the school because inevitably it means that the parents, carers and families that we have built strong relationships with also move on from our school community. We do hope that both students and families stay connected in some way with us.
Wishing all our students and families a very safe and happy holiday. Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year.
