TERM 3

We want to welcome Charlotte (FSC) and her family to Mullum Primary School.  Charlotte joined us last week and we really hope you are settling in well.

We have been very busy over the last two weeks at Mullum Primary with a hugely successful Working Bee; excursions to Sea Life - Melbourne Aquarium; Grade 5/6 rocket launches; the hugely popular Breakfast and Books; Chocolate drives; Premiers Reading Challenge; wrapped up our first round of Dog Assisted Therapy groups; and so much more.  Check out some of the individual pages in this newsletter for information and photos for you to enjoy.

Father's Day on Sunday

We want to wish all of the fathers and those who play a father role for children a very happy day on Sunday.  Our Stall is open tomorrow for students to purchase that special something to gift on Sunday, enjoy!

Morphology

As part of literacy learning in Grade 3-6, students undertake the study of morphology. Investigating the structure of words, looking at the smallest unit in a language - the morpheme.  It looks at how words behave as part of speech, how they are used to express gramatical catagories like tenses, voice, mood etc... For example the word 'unhelpful' contains three morphemes: the prefix 'un' (meaning not), the root word 'help' and the suffix '-ful' (meaning full of).  Here are a few photos of the action in Grade 5/6Y this week:

2025 Parent / Carer / Guardian Opinion Survey

Last week, via Compass, we sent out information to everyone about the annual Opinion Survey.  We do really value your feedback and encourage you to take some time to complete the survey letting us know about your family's experience at school.  The survey link is open until the end of the term, 19 September.
