Foundation News

It has been a busy and exciting week in Foundation.
A highlight for our students was participating in their first Book Week celebrations.
Students thoroughly enjoyed dressing up as their favourite characters and engaging in a range of book-themed activities.
Thank you to all families for your support and creative outfits on the day!
In Literacy, students have almost all initial sounds of the alphabet.
We have learnt new sound z and v and digraph zz and ch.
It has been pleasing to see their growing persistence and enthusiasm to apply new sounds and tricky words when reading and writing.
In Mathematics, students continue to develop their understanding of measurement, with exploration of Length, and Mass.
Students are engaging in activities to identify, compare and predict a range of items that are heavy, light, heavier, lighter and about the same by hefting and using balance scales.
In Religion we are starting our new topic “Lets celebrate creation.” In this unit students will begin to express appreciation for God’s gift of creation and identify ways in which they can care for God’s world.
