Preps

Students explored the world of dance when they listened to ‘The Waltz of the Dolls’ by the French composer, Leo Delibes. They pretended to be a toy or doll in a toy shop and when the magic happens, students came to life, moving about the room, learning to use body movements for the first time!

These are some examples of their drawings of this experience.

Year 2

The Year 2 students learnt about the life of Johann Sebastian Bach and listened to one of his scores, ‘Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’ which is a joyous piece written about the joy of Mary giving birth to baby Jesus! Students also looked at a different version in one of Bluey’s episodes which has different instruments and a faster tempo. Who would have thought that a Bach composition would be a popular choice for a kid’s animation!
