Grade 4 News

We are now well into Term 3, and Year Four have been working hard across all areas of learning. In Literacy, we have begun reading our new class novel The Wild Robot, by Peter Brown, and are enjoying the adventures and lessons it brings. Alongside this, we are learning to write persuasive texts, focusing on using strong arguments and supporting evidence.
In Mathematics, students have been exploring fractions and decimals, building their understanding of parts of a whole. Next week, we will be moving into a new unit on location, using maps to develop our spatial thinking skills.
In History, we are continuing to learn about the arrival of Europeans in Australia. This includes investigating the lives of First Nations Australians before colonisation and understanding the impacts that European settlement had on their communities.
In Religion, we are finishing our work on parables and will begin our next unit, For Creation, Praise, next week. This unit will focus on developing an appreciation of the beauty of nature and our responsibility to care for it.
A reminder that Athletics Day will be held next Friday, September 5.
We look forward to seeing everyone there to cheer on our students as they participate in a variety of events.
