It’s been a busy and exciting term of learning in Grade 2!
Students have continued to engage deeply in a range of meaningful and hands-on learning experiences across all subject areas.

Our young inquisitive scientists have been learning the different steps required to complete a science experiment. They have been learning about fair testing, what a variable is and how to write up their results.
Literacy:
In reading, the students have begun to learn the strategy of finding the main idea of a text. They have been reading passages and thinking about the title and pictures as well as the key words to help them understand the main idea.
In Writing, the students have begun to explore persuasive texts. They have listened to The True story of the Three Little Pigs and need to decide if they believe the wolf, is innocent. They have begun to discuss how wolves are portrayed in fairy tales and how this might affect how the wolf is viewed.
Religion
Students have been exploring the message of the Good Shepherd. They listened to the words from the Gospel and then created their own artwork thinking about the words that stood out to them.
Mathematics
In Mathematics, the students have been learning about the features of two-dimensional shapes. They have been learning how to classify them according to different features. They have also been using tangrams to create different pictures.
