Grade 1 News

What a fantastic couple of weeks we've had in Grade 1!

Last week, we celebrated Book Week, and it was absolutely wonderful to see the students dressed up as their favourite characters from beloved books. Their creativity and enthusiasm made the day extra special!

In Writing, we’ve been learning all about information texts. Students enjoyed reading Migaloo the White Whale and used facts from the book to write about Migaloo’s life. They did an excellent job identifying key information and turning it into their own informative sentences.

In Mathematics, we’ve been exploring skip counting and patterns. Students have used a range of materials to investigate number patterns, and it’s been great to see them so engaged in hands-on learning.

We’ve also started our new unit in Religion called Let’s Care for Creation, where we’ll be learning how we can all take care of the beautiful world around us.

Just a quick reminder to parents: readers are changed every Monday and Wednesday, so please make sure book bags come to school on those days.

And finally, a big congratulations to 1 Shannon for winning last week’s Bernie Trophy!

Well done to all students for being safe, respectful, and responsible learners.
