Year 2 News

Dear Families,

This term is flying by, we can’t believe we are already halfway through. Our students are doing a fantastic job with their learning this term.

We loved the excitement around Book Week last week, it was fantastic to see so many of the grade 2’s dressed up in costumes of their favourite book characters.

This term we welcomed Miss Martin as the new teacher who took over from Mr Finch. This learning group is now called 2SM, please say hello to Miss Martin if you see her around the school.

Our students have been working hard following the Riverwalk design process and have started creating their robots last week, they are looking great. During English students will begin writing a procedural text to explain how they made their robot  and will design a poster to advertise them. Our maths units this term have also supported this project by teaching students different shapes that they have used in the design process. For the remainder of the term students will learn about collecting representing data that they will also include in their final presentation of their robots.

All classes have been focussing on gratitude, many classes have displays that students add to regularly. It has been so lovely to hear students sharing things they appreciate both at school and their personal lives.

Thankyou,

Ashlea Sagona, Krysta Flahive, Ben Walker, Nicole Timbs, Gracie Lucignani, EmilyScott McCabe, Nathan Gauci, Tenylle Crees, Sophie Marin
