School News

18th August  2025   Arno

Last week's superhero was recognised for the school values of Care and Respect.

Arno is a hardworking and dedicated student who consistently gives his best effort in all areas of school life. He approaches learning with a polite and studious attitude, always focused and eager to improve. Arno is a wonderful friend to his peers—kind, inclusive, and always ready with a supportive word or helping hand.

Arno lives and breathes our school values of care and respect, treating others with kindness and showing great integrity in the classroom and playground alike. His great sense of humour brings joy to those around them, always delivered at the right time and in the right way. His ability to make others laugh while remaining respectful and appropriate is a true strength.

With his strong work ethic and positive attitude, Arno is sure to go far—whether that’s in the classroom or on the soccer field, chasing his dream of becoming a professional soccer player. Studio 7 is so proud of the thoughtful, motivated and all-round terrific person he is…well done Arno !

Congratulations Arno, we hope you've had a great week.

25th August  2025      Edgar

This week’s Superhero Award goes to a student, who’s been crushing it faster than a speeding soccer ball! He is receiving the award for Excellence.

Edgar has shown excellence in everything he takes on. Whether he is tackling a tricky maths problem, diving into a great book, or crafting thoughtful writing pieces, he approaches every challenge with enthusiasm and curiosity.

Edgar is a true adventurer when it comes to learning, always thinking outside the box and never afraid of trying something new.

But his superpowers don’t stop in the classroom. He is a kind and respectful classmate who brings a positive attitude to everyone around him. He has made many friends and is always ready with a smile or a helping hand.

And did we mention… Edgar loves soccer? Just like on the field, he brings energy, focus, and teamwork to everything he does in the Foundation Unit.

Congratulations, Edgar! Keep shining, keep soaring, and keep being the amazing Superhero you are!

Year 5/6 News

This term, Grade 5/6 students are taking on the 60-Minute Exercise Challenge! Research shows that at least one hour of physical activity each day helps keep our bodies strong, our minds sharp, and our moods positive.

Each student will be keeping a personal activity log to record their daily activities, whether it’s playing sport, playing a game, walking, or dancing. The log will help students see how much they move each day, celebrate their progress, and set new goals.

We’re not just focusing on individual effort as teamwork and encouragement are a big part of this challenge. Students will share ideas for fun ways to stay active, cheer each other on, and work together to reach our targets.

Let’s make every step, jump, and stretch count and prove that being active can be fun, social, and rewarding!

Production tickets now available!

We’re so excited to share our upcoming whole-school production! To help as many families attend as possible, we encourage those who can, to come along to the matinee performance. This will leave more seats at the evening show for parents and carers who can only attend after work.

180 students from Years 3–6 will light up the Kyneton Town Hall stage in a joyful production exploring the life cycle through storytelling, theatre, and song. There will be two performances: matinee and evening.

Our Prep–Grade 2 students will enjoy the full dress rehearsal earlier in the day, so they don’t need to attend the performances.

Children's Book Week Dress up and Parade

The Student Council would like to remind families and caregivers that our Book Week Parade will be held on Monday 15 September, in the last week of Term 3. This date has been chosen to avoid clashes with other school events, including the production, camps and incursions.

Students are encouraged to dress as their favourite book character, an author, something from a story (such as a creature, object or place), or as an adventurer inspired by this year’s Book Week theme: Book an Adventure!

If your child is attending another school activity on the day, they must follow the dress requirements for that event.

We’re looking forward to seeing your creative costumes!

Carpark Safety

We would like to address some important safety concerns regarding carpark use, and we kindly ask for your cooperation.

Kindergarten Carpark

We have been made aware that some families are using the kindergarten carpark who are not attending the kindergarten. This carpark is reserved exclusively for kindergarten families. If you have both kindergarten and school-aged children and need to park there, please ensure you use the ramp to access the school grounds.

The increased traffic in this area is making it difficult for kindergarten families to find parking and is also creating a safety risk due to the higher volume of foot traffic. Please also note that the gate between the kindergarten and school is now locked — children should not be lifted over the gate under any circumstances.

School Carpark

The school carpark has vehicles moving in and out throughout the day. For safety reasons, we ask that pedestrians do not use the stairs near the flag poles and then walk through the carpark as a shortcut. The designated ramp or steps are to be used when entering or exiting the school.

Thank you for your support in helping keep all members of our school and kindergarten community safe.
