3-6 House Athletics Carnival:
Wow! What a magical day we had last Friday for the 3-6 House Athletics Carnival. Sunny skies, smiling faces and a sea of red, blue, green and yellow! It was so impressive to see all students participating in the various different track and field events and giving it their best. A massive thank you to parent/grandparent volunteers, year 11 Mount Lilydale Mercy College students and CHPS staff who all helped make the event run smoothly!
Results will be published in next weeks newsletter after we celebrate at our special sports assembly tomorrow:
- Top 3 over all winners for each event
- Age group champions
- House champion
Work will also begin on District Squad selection based on House Carnival results, PE lessons and Friday Sport sessions.
High Jump trials will be held in week 5 with information communicated to students.
District Athletics is on Thursday 4th September (week 7). Students will be notified if they are in the squad and a compass event will go out for consent and payment.
Our school has been nominated to assist with Girls Long Jump at District and we will require 3 parent volunteers. When we finalise the squad, please email laura.yorke@education.vic.gov.au if you’re able to assist.
Basketball Uniforms:
If we have any basketball families in the community that can reach out to their local club for any uniform donations to our school, we would love to hear from you laura.yorke@education.vic.gov.au
PE Lessons – Injuries & illness:
We would just like to remind families that if your child is unwell or has injured themselves and are not able to participate in their PE lesson that week, can parents please email their PE teacher so we can keep a record of this. We would also like to help guide students with what activities they can still participate in. If we don’t receive an email, we will presume students are fit to participate.

BOOK WEEK NEXT WEEK
On Monday we would love all students to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character OR dressed in something that goes with this year's theme “Book An Adventure”. We highly encourage families to be sustainable (both on the environment and budgets) and reuse/repurpose outfits. There is no cost to come dressed up and we look forward to seeing students and staff dressed up. Parades will start around the school at 9.05am. Please see posters around the school or Compass for details of other fun activities.
Scholastic Book Club Orders
Scholastic Book Club Orders have been delivered to the school and will be distributed to students over the next couple of days.

Performing Arts
An exciting week for Performing Arts this week. Our Musical Excellence Choir competed on Monday at Monash Youth Music Festival. The Choir demonstrated what musical excellence means at Croydon Hills, sang beautifully and came in second place.
We also had Wakakirri this week. A dance Eisteddfod all about storytelling. Our story this year is all about real life Australian Antarctic Explorers who persevered through harsh weather, had to solve problems that came up along the way, and made the fastest trip across Antarctica unaided.
Lastly we announced our Most Valuable Performer Awards for our extracurricular clubs for Semester 1. Congratulations
