Principal's Report

Parent Information Evening

On Thursday, the 9th of October, I am throwing a party… well, maybe not a party, but we are treating everyone to some food and drinks, and we are hoping to welcome as many of our community as possible onsite for an important Information Night.

As a school, we have been working to develop our School-wide Positive Behaviour Framework. This is such an important step forward that we want to ensure everyone hears about and understands this significant positive change, and how together we can use it to help students build an even stronger community of learners.

On the night, we will share our behaviour matrices, positive acknowledgment system, corrective behaviour processes, and share some of the programs and learning experiences our students enjoy in the classroom.

Please join us on Thursday, the 9th of October, to be part of this important step forward for our school.

Offsite Evacuation with Heathmont Secondary College

On Thursday, 18th September, as part of our Emergency Management procedures, we will be conducting an offsite evacuation to Heathmont Reserve.

We will be undertaking this exercise alongside our neighbours at Heathmont Secondary College. This is an important opportunity for both schools to practise our response to a situation that may pose a threat to both locations.

It is important that as many students as possible are present on the day so they can experience and understand the process. This way, if we ever need to carry out an evacuation in real circumstances, our students will know what to expect and feel more prepared.

Parent-Teacher Conference

Don’t forget to book your conference! We are now less than a week away from our Parent–Teacher Conferences. Please make your booking with your child’s classroom teacher via Compass.

These conferences are a valuable opportunity to share insights, celebrate progress, and discuss next steps in your child’s learning.

Hats

While the weather is certainly living up to Melbourne’s reputation, it’s time to start packing a hat in your child’s bag. As the weather improves, UV levels will begin to rise. We’d much rather students be able to enjoy playing everywhere in the yard, rather than being restricted to the shade.

Warmly,

Tim Mulhall
