Growing Together in Faith and Community

Praying for our school together

Welcome to the NCS Community Prayer Newsletter

Thank you for your commitment to supporting our school through regular, intentional prayer. Each month, you’ll receive updates that highlight specific ways to pray for the students, staff, and families of Nowra Christian School.

As we stand together in faith, we invite you to join us in lifting our school community to God, trusting Him to work powerfully in every heart, classroom, and conversation.

Year 9 & 10 Moore College Students – Acts (New Testament II)

Our Year 9 and 10 students are studying Acts as part of the Preliminary Certificate of Theology through Moore College.

  • Pray that students will be inspired by the boldness of the early church and be encouraged to share the gospel with confidence.
  • Ask that they grow in their understanding of the value of Christian community and develop strong, supportive relationships in their studies and beyond.
  • Pray that God will equip and prepare these students to teach the Bible to others and step into leadership roles in the school community in their Senior years.

Praise Point – Year 9 Growth

We’re thankful for the many ways Year 9 students have been growing!

  • Praise God for their academic growth and developing maturity.
  • Pray that Year 9 students continue to grow in kindness, inclusiveness, and their studies.
  • Ask for strength and protection for our Christian students—that they would influence the culture positively, rather than be shaped by non-Christian influences.

 Performing Arts – Musicals

  • Praise God for the fantastic response to Beauty and the Beast auditions.
  • Pray that all students involved feel welcomed, valued, and supported throughout the production.
  • Pray for the upcoming Primary School Musical – Peter Pan (28–29 August).
    • For preparations, rehearsals, energy and unity among students and staff.
    • That the production would be God-honouring and bring our community together.

 Leadership & Staffing

  • Pray for the provision of a new Business Manager for the school.
  • Thank God for the consultant Business Manager currently supporting the school during this transition.
  • Praise God for the appointment of Carla Robinson as the new Secondary Learning Support Coordinator.
    • Thank God for the wealth of experience she brings to this important role.

NAIDOC Assembly – Friday 15 August

  • Pray for our NAIDOC Assembly as we honour and reflect on the many valuable contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians make to our country and society.
  • Pray for respectful engagement, deep learning, and genuine appreciation from our school community.

Parent Volunteers & Community Life at NCS

  • Thank God for the way parents are investing in the life of our school community by volunteering in roles such as Parent Ambassadors and supporting events like the Breakfast BBQ and Chat, Father’s Day Stall, and Book Week.
  • Pray that God would continue to grow an inclusive and welcoming community at NCS, and that through this, He would create opportunities for meaningful gospel conversations and draw people to Himself.

Mentor Evening & Christian Mentoring

  • Pray for the upcoming Mentor Evening this week—that it would be a valuable time for strengthening relationships and encouraging growth in character, conviction, and competency.
  • Thank God for the many Christian mentoring relationships already happening among our students, and pray that God will continue to bless and grow this ministry.
