Principal's Report

We were thrilled to recently hear that Gardenvale PS had been awarded Runner Up in the AIA Healthiest Schools Challenge, and that we’ve won $10,000!! We are extremely grateful to Dima Pudel, one of our parents for entering Gardenvale into the competition and completing the submission. Dima was well supported and encouraged by Robyn Krawitz, Romy Same and Jen Robinson to complete the application. Dima's children also helped with the process. They included all that Gardenvale does in terms of Sustainability, Gardening Program, Health and Wellbeing and of course they mentioned our wonderful HERRRBy. The prize money will be put towards the redevelopment of the sportsfield and play spaces at the Junior Campus. A huge thank you to Dima!
It was great to see so many parents at last week’s Parent Teacher Conferences for teachers to share the progress and good work students have been engaged in this semester. A gentle reminder that we ask that people share concerns through the correct forum, Dimi and I are always happy to discuss these with you as they arise.
HERRRBy Week
As we celebrate HERRRby this week we have the opportunity for us all, students, staff and parents, to reflect on how we communicate with and treat others and ourselves. HERRRby has brought an incredible culture to the school, so much so that HERRRBy is part of the school vocabulary, and if children make asides, others will remind them that HERRRBy would not say something like that. The focus for HERRRBy Week this year is ‘Be Safe and Thriving in 2025’! At HERRRBy’s birthday celebration this afternoon a wonderful time of singing and dancing was had by all students, staff and parents in attendance!
Uniform Update
As part of our Uniform Rebrand House t-shirts are now available for purchase at PSW. These are an optional choice of the uniform and can be worn by students for any House Event or on their PE day.
Lost Property
Is your child missing any items of their school uniform? If they are, please ask your child to check the lost property bins, we have a large amount of lost property at the both campuses!
Enjoy your week,
Janine Hall
