We are continuing our learning about oceans by putting all of the ocean zones together in a visual diorama.Â

-Nessy is a great resource to use to supplement your child's reading in a fun engaging way on their iPad
-Ask comprehension questions about your child's take home book or a book you read togetherÂ
-Engage in different non fiction multimodal texts, videos about ocean, rainforests, coral reefs etc. Discuss the fun facts you learn from the videos or non-fiction books.Â

This week we will be focusing on length. We will use informal measuring tools such as counters, unifix, etc. We be ordering objects based on indirect and direct comparisons. Â Â

-Compare different lengths of objects around your home. How could you describe it?
-Engage with mathseeds (Grade One) or mathletics (Grade Two)

đ CBL - DiversityÂ
We will be beginning our CBL explorations, learning about different cultural celebrations and what part of the world they originate from. Students will visit various 1/2 classrooms over the next 3 weeks to learn from a teacher 'expert' about a celebration such: Midsummer Festival, Chinese New Year,  Brazil Carnival, Holi Festival of Colours, Greek dancing and Hanami â Cherry blossom festival. Students will complete a booklet about their learning.Â
