Hello from our students and teachers

Respect, Responsibility and Kindness

Hello from Grade 5/6 Jackson

Grade 5/6 Jackson have had a great start to Term 2 at Bendigo Primary School. Here's an update on the hard work that we have been doing in the classroom:

Mathematics - Fractions and Angles

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays we have a number focus. Recently, we have been diving into fractions - representing them with number lines, finding equivalent fractions, and converting between different representations, to name a few key skills.

On Thursdays and Fridays we have a non-number focus, which has included our work on angles. We have measured, created using protractors, and identified angles by name. We have recently investigated complementary and supplementary angles, which are angles that add up to 90 degrees and 180 degrees respectively.

Reading and Writing

Our chosen focus text type for the first half of Term 2 is Information Reports. Students in 5/6 Jackson have been creating information reports on a wide range of topics, here are some examples:

Jets Gym

5/6 Jackson recently concluded our final session of Jets Gym. We had four sessions split up over 3 weeks, where students improved their physical skills of climbing, balancing, hanging and others. All students were engaged throughout the sessions:

Billabong Ranch

Grade 5/6 Camp for 2025 was at Billabong Ranch in Echuca, where students had an endless amount of fun with paddleboating, archery, camel rides, and heaps more. It was an action-packed 3 days:
