At St Mary’s College, we offer a wide range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses designed to give you real-world skills and hands-on experience in industries you’re passionate about.

 

Year 10 opportunities

Start exploring your interests early with our introductory VET courses:

  • Hospitality (Introductory)
  • Childcare (Introductory)
  • Certificate I in Workplace Skills

These courses are a great way to get a feel for different industries and build foundational skills.

 

Year 11 and 12 pathways

As you move into the Senior School, you can choose from a variety of nationally recognised qualifications offered at the College:

  • Certificate I and II in Hospitality
  • Certificate II in Cookery
  • Certificate I and II in Workplace Skills
  • Certificate II in Sports Coaching
  • Certificate II in Visual Arts – Sustainable Fashion and Design
  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Certificate III in Applied Health Assistance
  • Certificate II in Tourism

We also partner with other colleges, TAFEs and private or online Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) across Hobart to help you find the course that’s right for you.

 

School-Based Traineeships

Want to gain real industry experience while you study? School-Based Traineeships allow you to work one day a week in your chosen field while completing your Year 11 and 12 studies.
