A WONDERFUL WEEK WITH OUR SISTER SCHOOL

This week, we were delighted to welcome our Sister School students and staff from Jinling Primary School. A special thank you to Ms Lin (Executive Principal) and Mr Peng (Principal) for joining us, along with the 13 visiting students.

The students have thoroughly enjoyed participating in lessons, connecting with our students during playtimes, and learning about life in an Australian school. Their enthusiasm and curiosity have been warmly received by our community.

Our partnership with Jinling Primary School began in 2014, when 12 Park Orchards Primary students, accompanied by Mrs Daniel and Mrs Bian, travelled to Nanjing to visit the school. Since then, this cultural exchange has continued to grow, fostering deep connections and mutual understanding.

These exchanges are powerful opportunities for students to build friendships, develop intercultural understanding, and help shape a fairer, more respectful, and inclusive world, one that celebrates difference and values global citizenship.

We look forward to continuing this connection and, in 2026, reciprocating the visit by taking a group of Year 5/6 students to Jinling Primary School in Nanjing, China.

I’m incredibly proud of and deeply grateful to our wonderful host families, Hartley, Lin, Palmer, Kirkness, Dixon, and Theobald, for so generously opening their homes and warmly welcoming the Jinling students. Your kindness and support have made a real difference in helping the visiting students feel at home. I know their families would be so grateful for looking after their children.

A heartfelt thank you also to Mrs Bian for her tireless efforts throughout the week, coordinating arrangements, supporting our guests, and providing invaluable translation to assist with communication.

I’d also like to acknowledge our dedicated staff, for creating such memorable lessons and experiences for our visitors. And to our student leaders, thank you for your help with tours, activities, and interpreting. You've represented our school with pride and warmth.

HOUSE ATHLETICS

Congratulations to all the students, parents and staff for a wonderful House Athletics. The day could not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Mrs Carbone. What a great day!
