Year 3 / 4's News

Throughout Term 2, students in 3/4P and 3/4C have been exploring the beauty of Australia. Each week, students used the Atlas, Online Britannica, and various other websites and resources to build their understanding of the states, cities and landmarks across our country.
In Week 4, students explored the city of Melbourne for their excursion, which included a train ride to Flinders Street Station, a trip to the top of the Eureka Tower, a walk along the Yarra, a ride on the City Circle tram and a stop off at State Parliament.
Last week, students had the opportunity to share their hard work and learned knowledge with families for our Celebration of Learning. All students shared a published Realistic Fiction story, which was set at a well known landmark. Theodore’s story was set at the 12 Apostles, Arabella’s story was set on Rottnest Island, Abdel’s story was set at the Three Sisters and Vihan’s story was set at Cape Byron. Students also enjoyed creating brochures of famous landmarks as well, including Kardol’s brochure about Uluru, and Violette’s brochure about Dog On A Tucker Box.
We had a fantastic time exploring our country and learning about the many beautiful places within. Well done to all students for their outstanding brochures and stories that they got the chance to celebrate.
