Man vs Machine: A Rubik’s Cube Showdown at DCS!

Monday’s assembly at DCS was filled with excitement, innovation and a healthy dose of competition as students gathered to witness a unique challenge: Banjo vs. the Rubik’s Cube Robot!

Created by our very own Tom in Year 6, the Lego robot was designed to scan and solve a Rubik’s Cube using clever engineering and programming. Tom’s creation was not only a technical marvel but also a fantastic example of creativity and perseverance.

To celebrate this achievement, we hosted a “Man vs Machine” challenge, where Banjo, our reigning Rubik’s Cube champion, took on Tom’s robot in a head-to-head race. The Primary school was split into two cheering squads: one chanting for Banjo, and the other for the robot. The atmosphere was electric!

After a few false starts and some technical hiccups, the race was on. It was a close contest, but in the end, Banjo triumphed, holding onto his title as DCS’s top cube solver.

Congratulations to Tom for building something so fun and inspiring, and for generously sharing it with the whole school. And a big thank you to Banjo for being a great sport and a worthy competitor!
