In Mathematics, we will continue embracing the new Mathematics 2.0 Curriculum.  We will focus on consolidating skills and providing students with numerous problem solving tasks that encourage students to interleave multiple mathematical concepts.

  • Continuing to deepen students’ understanding of and fluency with numbers up to 120 and beyond
  • Consolidating skip counting skills by 2s, 5s and 10s from zero and other starting numbers (up to 120)
  • Investigating strategies for addition such as counting on, friends of 10, building to the next 10, doubles and near doubles
  • Investigating strategies for subtraction such as counting back, friends of 10, halves and near halves
  • Developing multiplicative thinking: including building arrays to represent repeated addition, fractions, sharing and grouping.
