3/4 CLASSROOM

Suddenly we are well underway into the term, what a great start we have had!
In English we have continued to work on 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes. Through this topic we have been researching and learning about Iron... Here are some of the interesting facts we have learnt.
- The Iron ore ships in the ocean can carry 47 times as much material as an Olympic sized swimming pool.
- Iron was once more expensive than gold.
- Iron can come from earths crust and meteorites (this led us into a discussion about the meteor show that will be happening this week!)
- There was an 'iron age' where iron was being used a lot in things like weapons!
In maths we have been covering the topic of multiplication and division. We have been working on making these terms much clearer using concrete materials to multiply and divide. This week we will be learning all about angles.
