Principals Message

Dear families,

As we move into Week 4, I reflect upon all that we have undertaken so far this term.

Our swimming program was a wonderful success, as was our NAIDOC week celebration where we celebrated culture and set up our ‘Yarning Circle’. This is a space where we can share stories, knowledge and information in a respectful and meaningful way. The space is complemented by a series of edible native plants.

St Mary MacKillop Feast Day Mass

On Friday, we celebrated our St Mary MacKillop Feast Day Mass with Fr. Adi. The students were exceptionally reverend and engaged throughout the Mass and during learning experiences involving the life, work and mission of St Mary MacKillop (Australia’s first saint).

100 Days of Foundation

We also celebrated the 100 days of school for our Foundation students. They have come so far in the short time that they have been at school. We are incredibly proud of all that our students have achieved.

Expression of Interest – Before/After school care

Next week, I will be meeting with a third-part provider for out-of-hours care for our school for 2026. I am incredibly hopeful that this is feasible for the company and that we can begin planning for this. I will keep you all updated.

Learning Conversations

Thank you to the families who have had their Learning Conversations already. This is a wonderful opportunity to ensure cohesion between school and home. If you have yet to have a learning conversation, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.

Enrolments now OPEN

Any families who would like to enrol students for 2026, we ask that you please return your enrolment forms asap so that we can begin the process of planning how 2026 and beyond will look. If you require an enrolment pack, please contact Pete or Georgia in our office.

If you know of anyone who wishes to enrol at St Mary’s and receive a high level of education, care and welcoming, please encourage them to contact us.

Winter bugs and illness

As we now move into Winter, we are beginning to witness greater instances of common illnesses. To ensure that we keep our community healthy, we ask that if you notice any symptoms including; fever, vomiting, or diarrhoea, please keep them at home until they have fully recovered. Please see the recommended exclusion period for common illnesses.

Once again, I thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school. Please do not hesitate to come and see me or email if you have any questions or concerns.

Vin Ryan
