Principal's Message

Dear Families,
Welcome back to Term 3 at Mooroolbark East Primary School.
As Ms Deborah Keating continues leave from Mooroolbark East I want to assure our school community that as a staff we are all extremely engaged and motivated in implementing our whole school improvement goals in a safe and inclusive environment for our whole school community. I understand that some community members may be concerned about the ongoing current school Principal arrangement but I want to assure you that school improvement decisions and actions have not stopped or been put on pause because of this. If you have any questions or would like to discuss further please feel free to contact the school on 9726 9422 or email mooroolbark.east.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
Last night I was extremely pleased to present our 2025 NAPLAN results to School Council. Our results have improved in 9 out of the 10 areas that NAPLAN assesses in Years 3 and 5. In year 3 we have seen substantial improvements to student learning outcomes, placing us above the mean for Victorian schools in 4 out of 5 areas. These results highlight the dedication and effort that our teachers invest into improving teaching and learning programs here at MEPS.
It was wonderful to celebrate our Prep students ‘100 days of Prep’ on Wednesday, 30 July. Thank you to the staff and parents who put in a huge effort to make this a memorable day for our Prep students.
Last Friday the office was ‘rockin’ as the students danced away in our staff room to celebrate their school wide positive behaviour reward. Students had a great time and so did the staff DJ’s.
Last, it is great to have Mr Brant Kennedy back with us for Term 3 after recovering from his recent ankle surgery.
Your sincerely
Matt Tyndall, Antoinette DiLudovico, Brant Kennedy
