Kale'a Stephens (Year 6) – School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships
Kale'a has enjoyed a rewarding running journey throughout her time at MPPS. Through dedication, perseverance, and a balanced approach to training alongside her varied sporting commitments, she has continued to develop and improve each season while remaining a humble, kind, and considerate role model.
Known for encouraging those around her and celebrating the success of others, Kale'a consistently demonstrates the values of our school both on and off the track. Her outstanding performance at the Victorian State Cross Country Championships, where she finished 2nd, has earned her selection to represent Team Vic at the School Sport Australia National Cross Country Championships in Sydney on 14 September. This marks her second Team Vic selection this year. Congratulations, Kale'a! We are incredibly proud of your achievement and wish you all the very best as you represent Victoria on the national stage.
Zoe Edwards (Year 5) – School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships
Zoe has enjoyed a remarkable year of running, showing continual improvement throughout the season while successfully balancing her commitment as a highly skilled basketball player alongside a range of other sporting pursuits. Her determination, discipline, and love of competition have been evident every step of the way.
A humble and kind student, Zoe consistently demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship and resilience. Her impressive 6th-place finish at the Victorian State Cross Country Championships secured her selection to represent Team Victoria at the School Sport Australia National Cross Country Championships in Sydney on 14 September.
Congratulations, Zoe! We are so excited to watch you represent Victoria on the national stage.
Cleo Deandrea (Year 6) – Team Victoria Basketball
Congratulations to Cleo on her selection in the Team Victoria Basketball squad. Chosen as one of just 10 athletes to represent the state, this achievement reflects years of dedication, commitment, and continual development of her basketball skills. Through consistent effort, a strong growth mindset, and a genuine passion for the game, Cleo has continued to challenge herself and strive for excellence.
As one of Middle Park Primary School's House Captains, Cleo is a respected leader who consistently leads by example both on and off the basketball court. Her strong work ethic, humility, positive attitude, and willingness to support and encourage those around her make her an outstanding role model. Cleo’s dedication to her team, her sport, and the values of our school are evident in everything she does.
This selection is a wonderful recognition of Cleo’s talent, perseverance, and the commitment she has shown to basketball over many years. Congratulations, Cleo! We can’t wait to see you proudly wearing the Team Victoria uniform.
